Painting a photography backdrop

I started my own little project recently to create my own portraiture backdrops. Having ordered some canvas I started with a few small pieces to work out how to prime the cloth before adding colour and texture. Over the weekend I set about making my first full size portraiture backdrop and the results are pleasing. Priming the canvas using watered down emulsion, then painting by brush, and filling in additional subtle colour form some tester pots I had. I now have a mahogany canvas with studio green tones mixed in.
